FilamenTech has recently started a collaboration with prof. Aleksandar G. Ostrogorsky from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL, USA on performing simulations and data analysis for the optimization of the DiGS experiments conducted on Earth and at the ISS (International Space Station) within the project: “Interference of natural convection with diffusion of dopants in molten Ge and Si in capillaries.”
FilamenTech’s task is to develop numerical models of heat convection, mass transfer and diffusion in order to optimize the future experiments on Earth and in microgravity. Determine the effects the diameter (d) of the capillaries, length (L), time (t), and the strength of the magnetic fields.
